REKINDLE - MASSENA - The fire that destroyed half of the building housing the Robert Moses Nature Center Tuesday rekindled early Wednesday morning.

The rekindling did not cause any significant damage, according to Massena fire chief Thomas E. Macaulay. The fire started at 6 a.m. and was out in about an hour, he said. The cause of the original fire is still under investigation.

The fire was in a 1950s steel wing of the building which housed state park police offices and a carpentry workshop. The portion of the building containing the nature center was saved. The animals, including an iguana and several birds, have been relocated.

ASSAULT - EDWARDS - Larissa M. Carlin, 19, of Edwards is facing several charges after breaking into a former residence and getting into a fight with the people with whom she used to live, according to state police Bureau of Criminal Investigations officers.

Ms. Carlin is charged with third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, second-degree menacing with a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, intent to damage property and burglary causing injury, police said. The last is a felony charge.

She allegedly returned to the home where she used to live with friends and relatives and began punching someone. She then left and came back by kicking the door open and grabbed a fork, intending to use it as a weapon, police said.

She was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday and arraigned in Edwards Town Court. She was released on $5,000 bail and will answer to an appearance ticket on March 16.

CRIMINAL SEX ACT - DEKALB JUNCTION - A 15-year-old youth from Rensselaer Falls has been charged with two felonies for allegedly having sex with a person under 11, according to Canton state police. The boy, whose name has not been released, was charged with engaging in a criminal sex act and sexual abuse. He was arrested at 10:18 a.m. Tuesday in DeKalb, police said.

AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT - CANTON - Patrick F. Whitehill, 20, of 1004 Irish Settlement Road, Canton, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and trespassing at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday for allegedly texting and calling his former boss, Susan K. Sattler, repeatedly, according to village police.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING - GOUVERNEUR - Jennifer L. Peebles, 35, of 35 Trinity Ave., was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal trespassing at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, according to village police. Ms. Peebles allegedly entered two unlocked apartments at Cranberry Housing Complex, claiming to be a cleaning service on Monday. She entered the bathrooms in both apartments, though it does not appear that she took anything, and left, police said.

MENACING - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged William E. Rambo, 49, no address given, with second-degree menacing Tuesday after he was accused of threatening another person with a knife. He was arraigned in Fort Covington Town Court and was released to appear at a later date.

HARASSMENT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Daniel F. Feeley, 38, of 808 state Highway 11C, Brasher Falls, at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for second-degree harassment. He was released to appear May 16 in village court.

MARIJUANA POSSESSION - MASSENA - Village police charged Bonnie L. Jeror, 26, of 137 Center St., Massena, and Thomas J. Lacombe, 30, same address, with unlawful possession of marijuana, endangering a child and unlawfully growing cannabis at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.

TRESPASS - MASSENA - Village police charged Sarah A. Griffin, 26, of 61 Parker Ave., Massena, with two counts of trespass at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

BACKING UNSAFELY - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Kelvin L. Clement, 53, of Massena for backing unsafely at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday on Andrews Street.

SPEED IN ZONE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Kari A. Chase, 35, of Potsdam for speed in zone at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday on the South Raquette Road.

STOP SIGN - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Amanda J. Laba, 23, of Massena for failure to stop at a stop sign and a suspended registration at 9:38 p.m. Tuesday on Lincoln Place.
