OGDENSBURG - Funeral services for Beverly Ann Walsh-Rule, RN, 64, of St. Lawrence Avenue, Ogdensburg, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rule passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday morning (March 7, 2010).

Surviving is her husband, Rev. Alan Rule; two sons, Robert Rule and wife Lisa of Vero Beach, Fla., and Alex Rule and wife Maribel of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Alynia Rule of Ogdensburg; a sister, Roberta Jones and husband Norman of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Madison, Connor, Courtney and Robert Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beverly Ann was born on July 14, 1945 in Paterson, N.J., daughter of Lawrence and Florence (Hallock) Walsh.

She attended Eastwood High School in Syracuse and graduated in 1963 from Memorial High in Beloit, Wisc.

She married Rev. Alan Rule, former pastor of the Christ Church of Morristown, on July 20, 1963 in Beloit, Wisc., at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Father Joseph E. Mazza officiating their marriage.

Beverly Ann enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in June 1976 at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, as a medic, and received training as a licensed practical nurse.

In 1975, she began working at the St. Clair Hospital as a licensed practical psych nurse until 1979 when she moved to Daytona Beach, Fla., and began working at the Halifax Psychiatric Hospital.

She received her registered nursing degree April 8, 1985 from The State of Florida College and continued her employment with the Halifax Hospital as an RN.

In 1986, she became employed with the ACT Corp Indigent Care Psych Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fla., where she worked as head nurse until 1998 when she retired.

Following her retirement, she and her husband moved to Ireland, where she became a registered artist with a specialty in oil paintings until September 2006, when they moved to Ogdensburg.

She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and featured her Irish art work on her Café Press web-site. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, painting and her pets.
