FORT MYERS, FL- The SUNY Potsdam womens softball team dropped doubleheader as they continued their spring break trip down in Florida.
The Bears lost the first game to Clark College 10-2 in five innings. Offensively for Potsdam, Amanda Perry (South Glens Falls) was 1-2 with a run scored and Dana Vollmuth (Great River was 2-2 with a run scored, two RBIs and a homerun. Brittany Pawlowsk(West Seneca) pitched 4 and a-third innings and gave up seven hits, one run, two walks and had one strikeout. Katie Nawrot (Clarence) pitched a-third of inning and gave up one hit and one walk.
In the second game, Potsdam fell to Bethany Lutheran 7-3. Vollmuth was 2-3 at the plate. Heidi Grebinger (Bellmore) continued her hot start to the season in going 1-4 with a run scored, one RBI, and a homerun (her fourth so far). Allison Smiddy (Ft. Covington) was 1-3 and Nawrot was 1-2 with an RBI. Meghan Patterson (Malone) pitched four innings and gave up four hits, six runs (5 earned), five walks and had two strikeouts. Pawlowski pitched in relief and went two innings and gave up one hit, one unearned run and had one strikeout.
The Bears are off on Wednesday but return to the diamond on Thursday with another doubleheader. They will face Dallas at 9 a.m. and Saint Mary's at 11 a.m.
