"Skating Through Time" Potsdam Figure Skating Show This Saturday
POTSDAM - The Potsdam Figure Skating Club Annual Ice Show is slated for this Saturday at Clarkson University's Cheel Arena starting at 6 p.m.
This year's theme is "Skating Through Time" and more than 100 area skaters are expected to take to the ice over the course of the evening. The variety of music ranges from the roaring '20's to the present. Every member of the Potsdam Figure Skating Club, from the youngest to the most experience, has been working hard to get ready for the program under the guidance of coaches Karen Healey, Alicia Walter, Lisa Cardinal, Jessica Nuwer and Danielle Grant.
Saturday night's program will feature solos by Caitlyn Carey, Maya Holsen, Jessica Nuwer, Katie Phelan, Beth Shepherd, Emily Sloan, Chelsea Travis, Ann Chiarenzelli, Haley Clark, Allison Kearing, Abigail Lanning and Jessica Sullivan.
Three trios will also be showcasing their talents - Bria Cole, Mike DiMatteo and Stephanie Kearing; Ashley Anderson, Mimi Husinec and Courtney Saumier; Jenna Fiacco, Catalina Rusaw and Kathryn Travis.
Returning as guests skaters is the pair of Anne-Chloe Bissonette and Dylan Lockey. Four area synchronized skating teams are also expected to be on hand - The Shooting Stars, Ice Angels, Saint Sensations and The Larriettes.
High school seniors who are giving their final solo performances as members of the Potsdam Figure Skating Club include; Caitlyn Carey, Katie Phelan and Beth Shepherd from Potsdam Central along with Chelsea Travis of Madrid-Waddington.
