Seniors Draw Hockey Season to Close
POTSDAM - The Victory Promotions Exceptional Senior Hockey Game concluded the 2009-2010 Section 10 campaign on Tuesday evening at Clarkson's Cheel Arena.
Each of the three teams played two 25-minute games with all three teams going 1-1 in the event which featured seniors from nine schools.
Participating were: Massena: David Peets, David Henrie, Evan Raymo, Zach Prashaw; Canton: Matt Flynn, Tyler Hunbt, Dakota Sharp, Kolby Weaver; Potsdam: Taylor Hazen, Shane McHenry; Malone: Matt Teeple, Norwood-Norfolk: Thomas Plumb, Nick Belile; St. Lawrence: Jack Keenan, Charlie Dullea, Doug Colbert, Tim Joanette; Alex Bay: Josh Slocum, McKenzie Garlock, Bryant McCarthy; OFA's Chris Harper, Erik Whitcombe, Ernie Jeneault; Salmon River: Jeremy Cole, Derek Hopps, Ben Treptow, Andrew Bomberry and Aaron Jacobs.
Division I 6, Division II East 1: David Peets generated three goals to pace Division I schools (Massena, Potsdam, Canton) past Division II (Malone, St. Lawrence, Tupper Lake, Alex Bay - via trade, Norwood-Norfolk). Zach Prashaw, David Henrie, and Matt Flynn each scored once. Dakota Sharpe/Kolby Weaver shared the crease.
Josh Slocum scored for East. Nick Belile was the keeper.
Division II West 4, Division I 2: Derek Hopps provided two goals for Division II West. Clay Thomas and Andrew Bomberry each scored once for the winners who received a stellar 14 save performance from Chris Harper.
Evan Raymo and David Peets netted goals in the losing cause.
Division II East 5, Division II West 1: Mackenzie Garlock scored three times and Thomas Plumb and Bryant McCarthy each scored once backing Nick Belile in net for Division II East.
Derek Hopps scored for Division II West. Harper backstopped the Division II West effort.
