Private family memorial services for 58-year old Mr. Michael B. Aldrich of Potsdam will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam. Mr. Aldrich died May 28, 2010 at his home in the Town of Pierrepont.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Champney) Aldrich of Potsdam, two sons, Ryan Aldrich of Chico, CA, and Benjamin Aldrich of Potsdam; his mother Mrs. Hildred Aldrich of Potsdam; four sisters Mrs. Everett (Nancy) Taylor of Rochester, Mrs. Gerald (Jill) Thomas of Potsdam, Mrs. Douglas (Terri) Lindsay of Williamson, NY, Mrs. Mark (Toni) Evans of Cicero, NY, a half sister Mrs. Royce (Evelyn) Miller of Sarasota, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his father Bernard, and one brother Randy Aldrich who died in infancy, and a half sister Elaine Bennett.
Born in Potsdam, NY on February 8, 1952, Michael was the son of Bernard E. and Hildred (Green) Aldrich. He graduated from Potsdam High School in 1970, and attended SUNY Canton College. For several years he worked on the Richard Ames family farm in the Town of Canton.
Michael joined the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Dept. in 1979. He retired on August 31, 2007 as a Sergeant. Michael was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing.
CANTON - Howard A. Shorette, 85, formerly of County Route 21, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena, where he was a resident since October 2009.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 1st at 7:15 PM at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton with Rev. Mother Evette Austin officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Crary Mills Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Surviving are five sons and three daughters-in-law, Ernest and JoAnn of NC, Ivan of NC, "Bill" and Colleen Dennis of Canton, "Chip" of Tupper Lake and Wade and Jessica of Potsdam; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Born October 14, 1925 in Brushton, NY, son of Hubert J. and Marion (Clark) Shorette he attended Malone Schools.
On October 12, 1947 he married Anabel Dennis at the home of his parent's in Malone, NY. Anabel died July 17, 2007.
Howard worked for Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. in Star Lake, NY from 1952-1979. He was known for and enjoyed working as a "shoe cobbler" and also cleaning for several businesses in the area.

Funeral services for Abraham Lawrence Jerue, age 102, of 1208 Ford St., Ogdensburg, are incomplete with Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Jerue passed away peacefully at his home Saturday morning, May 29, 2010. Among his survivors are his son, Richard.
RUSSELL - Beverly "Betty" I. Beachard, age 80, of Russell, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at her home under the care of her loving family and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Hermon Cemetery with Rev. William Hart officiating. Funeral arrangements were handled by French Funeral Home, Edwards.
Betty was born on August 19, 1929 in Pierrepont to the late Basil and Elsie (Curtis) Fountain. She graduated from Knox Memorial High School in 1948. Betty married Joseph C. Beachard on June 25, 1948 at the Morley Wesleyan Methodist Church by Rev. Arthur Northrup. Mr. Beachard passed away on April 14, 2004.
Mrs. Beachard has lived her whole married life in Russell where she raised her family and 37 foster children. She was a member of the Russell Grange, a 4-H Leader and a Cub Scout Leader.
Her survivors include two sons, Douglas L. and his wife Valerie Beachard of Boyd Pond, Daniel J. Beachard and his companion Judy White of Russell; two daughters and their husbands, Donna J. and Gerald FitzGerald of Russell, Sandra J. and Peter Burnham of Russell; a sister, Joan Matthews of Princeton, IL; and three brothers, Allen Fountain of N. Syracuse, Lawrence Fountain of South Colton, Raymond Fountain of Pyrites, and Arnold Fountain of Russell. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband; a son, Joseph B.; a sister, Geneva Wood; and four brothers, Junior, Harold, Lawrence and Floyd Fountain.
POTSDAM - Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth Wright, 86, of Potsdam will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Pastor Charles Colton, nephew of Mrs. Wright, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam.
Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Tuesday, June 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Wright died May 27, 2010 at the Maplewood United Helpers facility in Canton.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. (Lewis) Carol Hanna-Smith of Rensselaer Falls, Mrs. (Larry) Patricia Cobane-Ramsay, Mrs. Penny Dowdle, and Mrs. Karen Andrews, all of Potsdam; and three stepsons, Frederick Wright Jr. of Colton, Lee Wright of Massena, and Michael Wright of Sodus, N.Y. There are also 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews surviving.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. (Lester) Martha Snyder, and a brother Wilbur Thompson.
Marjorie was born in the Town of Fowler on July 6, 1923, the daughter of Leon S. and Lillian E. (Streeter) Thompson. She graduated from Potsdam High School and attended a year at St. Lawrence University.
On Sept. 20, 1942 she married Frederick E. Wright. The marriage ended in divorce.
Marjorie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Canton, and enjoyed gardening, watching birds, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was formerly employed as a clerk in the Brittsā Dept. Store in Canton.

SOUTH COLTON - Arrangements for 47 year old Robert M. LaBarge Jr., South Colton, are incomplete at this time with the Buck Funeral Home in Colton. Mr. LaBarge passed away Friday at home.
