King Coat Sealing Knocks Off Ron's for 3rd Straight Lax Win
BRASHER FALLS - King Coat Sealing continued to turn the tide in the Northern New York Box Lacrosse High School Division on Monday, netting its third straight win via a 19-13 decision over a Ron's Agridrainage squad which entered the night in sole possession of first place.
The other High School Division game played at the Tri-Town Arena saw B-W Quick Stop regain a share of the top spot by holding on for a 15-13 decision over Hacker's Sports after having built a 10-0 halftime lead. The Elementary Division matchup had Dow Electric outscoring Adirondack Aikido 13-11 while the Reds beat the Whites 18-14 in the Adult Division contest.
HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION
King Coat Sealing 19, Ron's Agridrainage 13: Pepsi Player of the Game Dalton Lottie generated three goals and two assists as King Coat Sealing improved to 3-4 after going winless through the first four games of the season. Nate Cole also made lead contributions with five goals and one assist. Martin Fregoe (2 assists) and Brendan Broderick chipped in two goals each.
Marshall Burninghauser tallied three goals as Player of the Game for Ron's. Zach Baldwin fashioned four goals and an assist. Jon Paul Chauvin contributed two goals and a solo helper.
B-W Quick Stop 15, Hacker's Sports 13: In the nightcap, B-W Quick Stop got off to an unprecedented start when as Brian LaBier handled all the shots he faced and his teammates worked their way to a 10-0 lead.
"I'm pretty certain that's the first time in 21 years of the league that we had a team in the high school division go into halftime with a shutout," noted league director Chris Rose.
Sam Gerber scored five times to earn Player of the Game status in the win. Lucas Arquiett netted three goals and Luke Collins a pair while Brady Helmer tallied a goal and two assists.
Nick Kowalchuk had three goals and an assist as Player of the Game for Hacker's. Dylan Patterson produced two goals and two assisits while Isaiah Perry logged a pair of goals.
LaBier finished with 37 saves and an assist over the course of the two games while Andrew Fiske wound up with 30 stops and three helpers.
ELEMENTARY DIVISION
Dow Electric 13, Adirondack Aikido 11: Myles Bordeleau scored three goals as Player of the Game for Dow Electric. Jonah Burnett chipped in three goals and one assist while Zach St. Hilaire had a goal and two assists. Sean Hornung made three saves working the crease for the win.
Player of the Game Will Arquiett struck for a goal in the losing cause. Jayden Ashley also played a lead role with four goals while Alex Berg scored twice. Cash Feeley finished with three stops between the pipes.
ADULT DIVISION
Reds 18, Whites 14: Jeff Slack netted three goals and set up another to spark the winning attack. Cody Kilcoyne also struck for three goals while Camden Durant and David Henrie each managed a goal and assist. Pat Corbine stopped 12 shots and handed out two assists in the winning effort.
Jack Keenan generated three goals and an assist in the loss. Kevin Logan scored a goal and set up two others while Charlie Dullea broke through for a pair of goals and David Hamelin recorded 15 saves.
