MASSENA - Therese M. Lord, 76, of 49 1/2 Maple St., Massena passed away Saturday (July 24, 2010) in her home in the care of her family and Hospice.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at noon at Sacred Heart, Massena.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Pierre of Norfolk and Christian of Liverpool; one daughter, Louise and husband Ray Kelly of Pleasanton, Calif.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lord and husband Jason Read of Florida, Nicole Lord of Norfolk, Corey and Justin Hebert of California, Melissa and Nicholas Kelly of California; one great-granddaughter, Brooke Therese Read of Florida; two sisters, Rejeanne Leduc Monchamp and Simone Leduc Lamy, both of Montreal; and one sister-in-law, Solange (Richard) Leduc of Longueuil, Que.

She was predeceased by brothers Ferdnand Leduc and Yves Leduc. On her husband's side, she has eight brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Raymond Lord (deceased), Marthe, Honorat Lord (deceased), Ghislaine (deceased), Irenee Lord and Yvette, Rejean Lord (deceased), Lorraine, Jasmin Lord (deceased), Henriette, Laurier Lord and Annette, Liguori Lord and Carmen, Veronique Lord, Francoeur and Claude. She leaves behind her adored dog, Caramel.

Mrs. Lord was born Sept. 17, 1933 in St. Hilaire, PQ, Canada, the daughter of Gaston and Bernadette (LeBlanc) Leduc. She attended school in Montreal.

She married Doriva I. Lord at the Cathedral of Ste Cecile Montreal on Dec. 27, 1952. Therese loved to garden, play golf and bowl.

POTSDAM - Mrs. Angela K. Petra, 72, of Potsdam, N.Y. passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her residence in the village of Potsdam while under the care of her family and the Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam with Monsignor Robert Aucoin officiating. There will be no burial.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Angela is survived by two daughters, Dianna Powelson of St. James, Mo., Pamela Boyle of Clarkdale, Ariz.; sons Vincent Petra of Potsdam, Lewis J. Petra of Cottonwood, Ariz.; sisters Katherine LaShomb of Potsdam, Frances Garcia of Bloomington, Ind., Carmela Gardner of Potsdam, Mary Metz of Hickory, N.C., and Elizabeth Caldwell of Gastonian, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one soon-to-be great-grandchild.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lewis Petra; son, Rusty Petra; parents, Aletha and Vincent Calipari; a brother, Samuel Calipari; and two sons-in-law, Randy D. Powelson and John W. Boyle.

Angela was born Nov. 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Vincent Calipari and Aletha Steery Calipari. She was a 1956 graduate of Massena High School. On May 3, 1959 she was married to Lewis Petra. They lived in Arizona for many years.

She worked in area warehouses while in Arizona. In 1993 she relocated back to Potsdam and worked at Sergi's Restaurant. She enjoyed picture puzzles and senior travel groups.

Angela was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Sandstone Senior Citizens Club and the Elks Lodge in Potsdam.

GOUVERNEUR - Funeral services for Fern A. Klock, 87, of St. Joseph's Home, Ogdensburg, formerly of Gouverneur, will be held Wednesday at noon at the Green Funeral Home in Gouverneur with the Rev. James Warrington, pastor of the Macomb Community Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Richville.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday.

Mrs. Klock passed away peacefully on Monday (July 26, 2010) in Ogdensburg.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Shampine of Sorrento, La., Sally and Hugh McElhearn of Canton, Sandra and James Hyde of Hammond; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; a son Kenneth Jr.; two brothers, Harry and Donald Yerdon; and four sisters, Frances Hutton, Grace Glasby, Dorothy Claflin and Betty Cutrie.

Fern was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Gouverneur, daughter of Floyd R. and Jessie Ames Yerdon.

She married Kenneth W. Klock on Feb. 24, 1940 in Gouverneur.

Mr. and Mrs. Klock owned and operated a dairy farm near Richville. Fern also worked at Gouverneur High School from 1979-1983 on the custodial staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Fern's honor to The St. Joseph's Home, 950 Linden St., Ogdensburg, NY 13669.

MASSENA - Private services for John L. Davey, 79, of 254 Maple St., Massena, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Davey passed away Sunday at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt.

John is survived by his companion, Sandy Fregoe, Massena; two sons, Frank and Terri, Norwood, Raymond and Bridget, Massena; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Leanne) Saxby, Norfolk, Mrs. Mark (Elizabeth) Henshaw, Port Charlotte, Fla.; several grand and great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard, Oswegatchie; and his sisters, Rita West King, Margaret Woodall, Mary Olmstead, Alice King and Theresa Lindsey, all of Norfolk.

He was predeceased by a son, Rodney; a daughter, Laura Wright; and his brothers, Carl and Paul.

Born at home in the Town of Potsdam on July 3, 1931 to the late John and Myrtle Babbitt Davey, he married Thelma Daggett. She passed away on Sept. 9, 2006.

He worked at ALCOA in Massena and also worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway, where he retired from in 1994. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1954. He was a life member of the Amvets in Massena and was a member of the American Legion.

He loved animals and enjoyed fixing things.

OGDENSBURG - Funeral services for Thomas R. Seymour, 83, of 47 Chimney Island Drive., Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Rev. James Seymour officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home.

Mr. Seymour passed away Monday (July 26, 2010) at home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Seymour is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Stephen and wife Barbara "Bobbi" of Mobile, Ala., Katherine Hanna and husband Mark of Rochester, Lucien and wife Rose of Rochester and Donald and wife Kim of Liverpool; two brothers, Robert and wife Clara and William and wife Mary Ellen; three sisters, Anna Dure' and husband Thomas, Marie Morley and husband William, and Ellen Bova and husband Herman and sisters-in law Rose Seymour and Janet Seymour, all of Ogdensburg; 12 grandchildren, Daniel Seymour, Rebecca Davis, Edward Max Seymour, Joanne Jennings, Laurie Gugliotta, Casey Lynn Ott, Kristine Price, Thomas Seymour, Timothy Seymour, Andrew Seymour, Emily Seymour and Meghan Seymour.

He was predeceased by two brothers, James and L. David Seymour.

Mr. Seymour was born on Sept. 22, 1926 in Ogdensburg, the son of Lucien and Mary (Brannen) Seymour. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1944. He graduated from Boston College after receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army.

He married Barbara Place Halford on June 13, 1953 at St. Mary's Cathedral with Rev. Brown officiating.

He first went to work at Fairfield Prep in Connecticut. He later taught at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester, where he taught math for 33 years and served as head of the Math Department for several years.

He was the head football coach for many years. He retired from coaching in 1981 and from teaching in 1989.

Mr. Seymour was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 258.

He enjoyed sports, fishing and swimming in the St. Lawrence River. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the annual Seymour Family Reunions.

MASSENA - Dennis Carriere of 84 Highland Road, Massena, passed away unexpectedly July 27, 2010 at his home.

Among his survivors is his wife, Gail.

Arrangements are incomplete with the Phillips Memorial Home, in Massena.
