Randolph D. “R.D.” Murphy, 62, of 295 LeHavre Drive, Cheektowaga, died Wednesday at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Cheektowaga.

A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church. Military honors will follow Mass at the church. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, Watertown.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Main Post Chapel (Po Valley) Fort Drum with the Rev. Thomas Dudley officiating. A fellowship gathering will follow the service at the chapel.

In June 1999 he became the Director of Public Affairs for the Army Garrison on Fort Drum, retiring January 29, 2009.
