Light Winds, Rain Dampen Weekly Yacht Club Regatta
SATURDAY, AUGUST 28, 2010
LAKE ST. LAWRENCE - Light and variable easterly winds, along with sprinkles of rain showers, challenged the fleet for Wednesday night's regatta at the St. Lawrence Yacht Club.
Three skippers and their crews were able to complete one race. Russ Barstow and Mona Vroman placed first, Julia LaShomb and Monica McLaughlin placed second and Charles and Beth Cox placed third.
As teams completed the course, a beautiful rainbow appeared welcoming them back to the yacht club.
The weekly Wednesday races will continue into September, weather permitting.
