AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT - MASSENA - A 29-year-old Massena man was jailed Friday evening on $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond after he allegedly sent a text message threatening o kill his wife.

Village police said their investigation revealed Kaylie P. Collins had called her husband earlier that afternoon and had shared her concerns about their relationship. Mr. Collins then reportedly responded approximately two and a half hours later with a message that read.

"Stop being stupid because the only way our marrriage would end is if you left in a body bag," according to court documents.

He then sent a text message with a similar theme to Ms. Collins' father. He reported the message to police.

Mr. Collins was arraigned by Massena Justice James M. Crandall and was to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - MASSENA - Village police charged Christopher J. Konsul, 26, of 1 Hutchins St., Apt. 3, Massena, also lsiting an address of 228 East Orvis St., Massena, with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. He reportedly violated an order of protection when he had contaxted with Michelle Bell at 2:04 a.m. and again at 2:20 a.m. Aug. 8. Police had responded to complaints that an order of protection was being violated.

SPEED NOT REASONABLE - NORFOLK - A Norfolk-area man was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent following a one-vehicle accident at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 420 near the County Route 38 intersection. Troopers said Keith Benedict, 26, of County Route 38, Norfolk, was northbound on state Route 420 when his vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. He was ticketed for speed not reasonable and prudent. There was also a brief power outage in the area of the accident, troopers said.

GRAND LARCENY - DEKALB JUNCTION - Ronald C. Green, 40, of 14 Wilson St., Heuvelton, was charged Monday with fourth-degree grand larceny for allegedly taking $2,600 from Ernest Monroe, 62, of 163 County Route 46, Massena, to have electrical work done at a Route 11 property he owns, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said. Mr. Green reportedly didn't do any work.

He was issued an appearance ticket for DeKalb Town Court.

ASSAULT - CANTON - Jermaine M. Kidd, 35, was charged Monday with second-degree assault for allegedly hitting another inmate while at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said. The name of the inmate hit wasn't released.

He was arraigned in village court and released under probation supervision to attend a rehabilitation program ordered by a St. Lawrence County Court judge.

Mr. Kidd was in county jail on charges of allegedly choking his wife and pulling out a revolver during a May 12 fight. He was charged with felony unlawfully possessing a firearm and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, deputies said.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION MARIJUANA - MADRID - Massena-based state police charged Bre-Ann M. Brown, 18, of Heuvelton and Brandon R. Rush, 18, of Massena with unlawful possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijauna following a traffic stop at 11:24 a.m. Monday on state Route 345 in the town of Madrid. Brown was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and Rush was also charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Brown was issued appearance tickets returnable to town of Madrid Court. Rush was arraigned in the town of Madrid Court and released under the supervision of the Probation Department.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION MARIJUANA - POTSDAM - Massena-based state police charged Jason C. Harbeck, 22, of Potsdam with unlawful possession of marihuana. Harbeck was found to possess less than 25 grams of marihuana subsequent to a vehicle and traffic stop Friday on Route 11 in the village of Potsdam. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable in the village of Potsdam Court.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION MARIJUANA - CANTON - Massena-based state police charged Joseph J. Chiarenzelli, 20, of Hannawa Falls with unlawful possession of marijuana. He was allegedly found to be in possession of less then 25 grams of marijuana and a marijuana pipe during a traffic stop at 9 p.m. Friday for failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of College Avenue and Route 11 in Canton. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the village of Canton Court.
