DWI - MASSENA - Village police charged Dean J. Maza, 33, of 59 Liberty Ave., Massena, with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop at 3:38 p.m. Wednesday on South Main Street. He was also ticketed for failure to keep right, following too closely and crossing road markings. No blood alcohol content was available.

SUSPENDED PLATES - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Travis C. Gardner, 26, of Pleasant Street, Massena, was ticketed for driving a vehicle with suspended plates following a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street.

THEFT OF SERVICES - MASSENA - An Illinois man was charged with theft of services after he allegedly failed to pay for a campsite on two separate occasions at the Robert Moses State Park.

New York State Park Police charged Thomas P. Mauck, 48, of 11343 Joilet Road, Lemont, Ill., with theft of services. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $250 cash or $500 bond.

Mauck, in a statement to park police on Wednesday, admitted he had camped at the state park on two dates - identified in court papers as Aug. 16 and Aug. 22 - without paying for the sites.

Park police said Mauck had arrived at the campsite late both night and been instructed on both occasions to pay for his site in the morning and had failed to do so. Court documents indicated the bill for the two night stay was $53.50.

DWI - POTSDAM - Christopher L. Trombley, 25, of 127 Old State Road, Rensselaer Falls, was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated after an accident on County Route 35 in Potsdam, state police said. Mr. Trombley was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, for treatment of minor injuries. A blood test will determine his blood alcohol content.

Joseph Burnett, 23, 355 Route 11B, Lawrence, was charged Wednesday with DWI and marijuana possession when stopped on County Route 56 in Hopkinton, state police said. His BAC was 0.13 percent.

INMATE ASSAULT - CANTON - Jermaine M. Kidd, 35, was charged Monday with second-degree assault for allegedly hitting another inmate while at the St. Lawrence County jail, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said. The name of the inmate hit wasn't released.

He was arraigned in Village Court and released under probation supervision to attend a rehabilitation program ordered by a St. Lawrence County Court judge.

Mr. Kidd was in county jail on charges of allegedly choking his wife and pulling out a revolver during a May 12 fight. He was charged with felony unlawfully possessing a firearm and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, deputies said.

DRUG POSSESSION - MADRID - Two teens face various drug charges when state police stopped them Monday on Route 345 and found marijuana and prescription drugs in the car.

Bre-Ann M. Brown, 18, Heuvelton, and Brandon R. Rush, 18, Massena, were each charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and marijuana possession, troopers said. Ms. Brown was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and Mr. Rush was also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Troopers said a few Vicodin pills and about 54 grams of marijuana were found in the car. Mr. Rush was arraigned in Town Court and released under probation supervision. Ms. Brown was issued appearance tickets for Town Court.
