BURGLARS SOUGHT - CANTON - St. Lawrence County sheriff's detectives are looking two white males suspected of stealing more than $3,000 in items, including tools, from an Eels Road home earlier this week. The burglary reportedly occurred Monday or Tuesday.

The thieves reportedly left the home in a red pickup, detectives said. The driver is described as being in his mid-20s, weighing about 160 pounds, with brown hair, a dark mustache and a tattoo of letters on his left forearm.

The second suspect is described as being in his mid-20s, weighing about 200 pounds, with sandy-colored hair and a small mustache, detectives said.

Anyone with information can call the sheriff's office at 379-2222.

PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA - A Louisville firefighter is accused of stealing about $350 in cash from the fire department on several occasions last month.

Eric A. Converse, 33, of 50 Maple St., Massena, was charged Thursday with three counts of petit larceny, all misdemeanors, state police said. Mr. Converse reportedly stole the money from a cash box at the fire department.

He allegedly stole $30 on Aug. 8, between $160 to $180 on Aug. 17 and $150 on Tuesday, troopers said.

Mr. Converse was issued appearance tickets Wednesday for Louisville Town Court. Louisville fire officials weren't available for comment Thursday night.
