John Edward Eckert
LAFARGEVILLE - John Edward Eckert, 95, of Chester, Conn., formerly of LaFargeville, will be buried Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Grove Cemetery in LaFargeville.
Mr. Eckert passed away peacefully April 15, 2010. with his children at his side
He is survived by his son, William (Virginia) Eckert; his daughter, Nancy (Arthur) Weeks; grandchildren David (Amy) Eckert, Susan (Marc) Allen, Adair (Barry) Galster, and Julia Weeks; and great-grandchildren Noel and Jonah Eckert, Zachary and Melanie Allen, and Oren Galster.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his sisters, Ruth and Kate; and his brothers, Frank and Bob.
Mr. Eckert was a graduate of Clarkson University and traveled the world as chief engineer for Armzen and later vice president of Engineering for the Waterbury Farrel Division of Textron.
He was a good friend to many and will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his lifelong interest in travel and learning, and his love of playing cards, especially bridge.
