David L. Patraw

MASSENA - Mr. David L. Patraw, 71, of 51 George St., passed away on Friday morning (Sept. 3, 2010) at Massena Memorial Hospital, under the loving care of Hospice, his family, and dear friends, Tracy Sullivan and Serena McGlaughlin, who supported his family immensely for the past few days.

David was born April 30, 1939 in Massena, the son of Richard and Pearl Locey Patraw. He attended local schools and served in the US Navy.

David was a plumber at Massena Central School for many years until his retirement at age 62. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Amvets.

David was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed going to the casino.

David is survived by his children, Kimberly LaClair and husband Steven of Massena, Tavis Patraw and wife Katie, currently serving in Iraq, and David Andrew Patraw of California; five grandchildren, Steven Jr., Janelle, Jesse, Nicole and Gavin; two great grandchildren, Autumn and Aubry; and a brother, Gary Patraw of New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Andrews.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where services will be held at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey V. Aiosa officiating.
