NORFOLK - The Norwood-Norfolk varsity boys and girls cross country teams closed out the NAC regular season by both gaining sweeps at home over Salmon River and OFA on Tuesday.
The Flyer boys placed six runners in the overall top 10 led by second-place finisher Josh Eng in a time of 20:42 as N-N downed OFA 24-33 and Salmon River 16-45. OFA beat Salmon River 18-25 to salvage the split.
Also aiding the N-N effort were Kyle Fulk, Devin Grant and Tyler Weller, who ran fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, Connor Levison (8th) and Jake Wellings (10th).
Jay Bombard was the top finisher for Salmon River with a seventh-place run.
OFA's Alex Wood led the race with a time of 19:46.
In the girls race, Kaycie Saucier was the overall leader for with a time of 23:25 in helping to pace the Lady Flyers to wins over OFA (27-30) and Salmon River (16-45). OFA beat Salmon River 18-45 in managing the split.
Also contributing toward the N-N sweep were Hannah Seguin (3rd), Ayanna Mason (8th) and Jessica Fulk (10th).
For Salmon River, Liz Morrow placed fifth overall.
At another tri-meet hosted by Franklin Academy, the Malone boys beat Gouverneur 17-44 and gained the win over an incomplete Canton squad to cap an undefeated NAC regular season while the Canton girls did likewise in outscoring FA 20-32 and Gouverneur 17-46.
The NAC Interdivisional Meet is slated for next Tuesday at the Gouverneur Country Club course starting at 3 p.m.
