MASSENA — Funeral services for Kay L. Stewart, 71 of North Clarkson Ave., Massena will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena with Rev. J. Michael Gaffney presiding. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery II, Norfolk, NY. Acting as pallbearers for Kay will be John Poirier, Ray Poirier, Ronnie Charboneau, Bernard Brault, along with grandsons Thomas Vielhauer, Brett Stewart and honorary pallbearer's are is granddaughters' Meghan Stewart and Sierra Vielhauer. Friends and family may call Friday from 4-7 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Kay died Monday morning (October 17, 2011) surrounded by her loving family at the Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been admitted Sunday evening. Surviving Kay is her husband Dwayne" Bud", a daughter Kimberly Vielhauer of Liverpool, NY, and a son, Daryl and companion Kandy of Massena; four grandchildren, Meghan, Brett, Thomas and Sierra; also
surviving Kay is a brother, William Quinell of Brasher Falls, and a sister Anne and husband James Dawson of Brasher Falls; a sister in-law Donna Eamon of Venice, Fl.; several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her brother Robert Quinell in 2003. She was born on April 4, 1940 in Helena the daughter of William and Marie (Hallahan) Quinell. Kay attended Bozart School of Cosmetology and ran a beauty shop in her home. She also served as Vice President of Massena Lincoln-Mercury Motors. Kay married Dwayne J. Stewart on October 24, 1959 at St. Patrick's Church in Hogansburg with Rev. Joseph Stickelmeyer presiding. She was a former member of the Massena Elks Lodge, member of Am Vets Post #4 Auxiliary, American Legion Post #79 Auxiliary.The AmVets and the American Legion will hold a joint Memorial Service on Friday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. At the family's request memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Rescue Squad. Online
