CANTON — Four men were indicted Tuesday by a St. Lawrence County grand jury on burglary charges after allegedly breaking into a Massena woman's house.

Chris A. Lavine, 34, Norwood; Derek Falls, 42, Montreal; Phillipe N. Gravel, 22, Quebec, and Edwin B. Spears, 37, Neptune, N.J., all face second-degree burglary charges.

About 2:45 p.m. Dec. 5, according to court documents, they entered the home of Sandra Dupuis, 528 Pontoon Bridge Road, who was inside cleaning, and began looking for Ms. Dupuis's daughter, Kimberley.

According to documents, Mr. Lavine and Kimberley Dupuis previously lived together.

The men took an iPhone and an iPad and left the house to enter a detached garage, where they removed a set of keys from the ignition of a vehicle, documents said.

Mr. Lavine was arrested at his home in Norwood later that evening, and the other three men were picked up by troopers in the parking lot of a Plattsburgh restaurant.

Third-degree burglary charges against the men by state police were not included in the grand jury indictment.
