Lady Raiders Deny Albany Academy

MASSENA - The Massena Central girls hockey team held on for a 2-1 win over Albany Academy in a High School League interdivisional matchup at the Massena Arena.

Jennifer Barney opened the scoring for the host Lady Raiders at 6:44 of the first period off an assist from Jaclyn Spinner. Laura Gonzales tallied the eventual game-winner with 2:24 left in the middle frame assisted by Mackenzie Young.

Albany cut the deficit to 2-1 just 2:07 into the third period when Hannah Tulchinsky finished off a play set up by Madisen Hetman and Ariella Haas.

Maddy Dillabough turned aside 26 shots working the crease for the win. Zoe Shannon logged 29 saves for Albany Academy.

Now 6-10-3 overall, the Lady Raiders close out the regular season on Monday at Lake Placid starting at 6:30 p.m.
