M-W Girls Hold Off P-H

PARISHVILLE - Shelby Gausby scored 19 points on Monday night as the Madrid-Waddingon girls basketball team defeated Parishville-Hopkinton 50-31 in Northern Athletic Conference East Division play.

Also for M-W (9-3, 6-1 NAC East), Bridgett Beldock hit a trio of three-pointers in scoring 11 points while Brittany Pierce added seven points.

For P-H (3-9, 2-6 NAC East), which trailed 24-6 at the half, Jena Jacot scored seven points, Kody Perkins and Elisabeth LaVelle each scored five while Caitlin McGregor and Jenna Converse each added four.

Also in the East Division, Tupper Lake beat Colton-Pierrepont 49-28 while Chateaugay dropped Edwards-Knox 45-26.

In the West Division, Hammond defeated Clifton-Fine 51-40 while Harrisville topped Heuvelton 62-57.

Tupper Lake 49, C-P 28: At Colton, Katie Stuart scored 18 points while Carley Aldridge added 14 to lead the Lady Jacks (10-4, 6-2 NAC East) past the Lady Colts who trailed 26-10 at halftime

For C-P (2-12, 2-6 NAC East) Morgan Doyle scored 10 points followed by Tara Hennessy with nine and Kylie Mckinley with five.
