Hopps Carries Raiders To Win At Malone

MALONE - Massena Central outlasted Central Division rival Franklin Academy 59-55 in NAC varsity boys' basketball action on Tuesday.

The Raiders built a 45-39 lead through three quarters then held off the Huskies for the win. Zach Hopps led the Raiders with 22 points, four assists and three steals. Troy Myers added 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Zack Rusaw contributed 11 points followed by Josh Miller with four. Joe LaBelle and George Sloan added three points each. Xavier Viskovich and Rhoades Tarbell (6 reboounds) closed out the Raider scoring with two points each.

Austin Dunlavey generated 17 points and 11 boards in the losing cause. Mitchell Gallagher (16 rebounds) and Bruce Monette both netted eight points followed by Jon Dunlavey with seven, Connor Dailey with six, Harvey Smith with four, Nate Monette with three and Aaron Decosse with two.

POTSDAM 101, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 32

Konnor Bigwarfe scored 24 points and Cameron Waters added 22 as Potsdam crushed the Flyers (3-11) in a nonleague game in Norwood.

Owen Mitchell scored 15 points and Michael Chambers added 13 for Potsdam (12-2). Josh Adams and Lee Buchanan each added 10 points.

ST. LAWRENCE 50, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 32

St. Lawrence Central (7-6, 5-0) claimed first place in the North Division with a win over the Panthers in Brasher Falls.

Donovan Patraw scored 14 points to lead the Larries and Nate Cole tossed in 11. Zach Tudor led the Panthers (5-8, 3-2) with 12 points.

CANTON 63, SALMON RIVER 47

The Golden Bears (6-8, 4-4) went on a 38-16 run over the second and third quarters to defeat Salmon River in a North Division tilt in Canton.

Garrett Kinnen scored 30 points for Canton. Kiio Jacobs and Josh Hynes both scored 13 for the Shamrocks (0-14, 0-5).

MADRID-WADDINGTON 80, PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 32

Matt Kendall scored 18 points and snagged 12 rebounds as the Yellow Jackets (12-1, 7-1) routed Parishville-Hopkinton in an East Division game in Madrid.

OFA 60, GOUVERNEUR 27

Matt Piercey scored 14 points for OFA (10-3, 3-1) in a victory against the Wildcats in a Central Division game in Gouverneur.

Breton LaRose added 10 points and 12 rebounds for OFA and Colin Ross scored 10 points. Nate Guesford led Gouverneur (3-10, 0-6) with 11 points and Mark Horne tallied 10.
