Rodger W. Haggett
A memorial service for 70-year old Mr. Rodger W. Haggett of Potsdam will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 4:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, with Pastor Lee Sweeney officiating. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11 from 1:00 PM to the time of the memorial service at 4 PM. Mr. Haggett died at his home on February 4, 2012.
Survivors include his wife April of Potsdam, a daughter Ms. Lisa Haggett DeMarco of Waterveliet, NY, three sons, Jason R. Haggett of Potsdam, Randall J. and his wife Jessica Haggett of Massena, Damon E. and his wife Heidi Haggett of Potsdam, a sister Dora H. Waite of Norwood, a brother Robert and his wife Valery Haggett of Norwood, an uncle and aunt ,Robert and Olive Haggett of Norwood, NY, two granddaughters Olivia Bonanni of Waterveliet, NY, Lillian A. Haggett of Potsdam, and two grandsons, Collin and Maxwell Haggett both of Potsdam, NY.
Rodger was born in Norwood, NY on July 7, 1941 the son of Rollin and Julia Nina (Randall) Haggett. He graduated from Norwood-Norfolk and served in the U. S. Navy aboard the U. S. S. Intrepid carrier as a Machinist from 1958 to 1962. Rodger married April Rider August 12, 1972 in Degrasse, NY.
He was employed as a locomotive Engineer for CSX Railroad for many years. Rodger was a member of the Potsdam VFW Post 1194, the Norwood American Legion, the Parishville AMVETS Post 265, and the Intrepid Association.
Rodger enjoyed hunting, playing his guitar with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers if friends desire memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, 6805 U. S. Route 11, Potsdam, NY 13676, or to the U. S. S. Intrepid Association, Sea and Air Museum, P. O. Box 140471, Staten Island, New York, 10314.
