A funeral service for 75-year old Eileen Martha (Norman) Lindsey will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Rev. John Downs officiating. A spring burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Colton. Friends may call at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Potsdam Humane Society, 17 Madrid Ave., Potsdam, New York 13676. Eileen died at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena on February 6, 2012. She was a resident of Parishville.

Survivors include three daughters, Melonie Ferguson of Parishville, Catherine Mott and Marlene Silver both of Massena, a son Michael Putnam of Walkill, NY; and three brothers, Gordon Norman of Heuvelton, Walter Norman of Norwood, and Paul Norman of Dallas, TX.

There are 11 grandchildren: Brian Ferguson, Dawn Ferguson, Jesse Ferguson, Stacy Ferguson, Brenton Johnson, Nicole Silver, Michael Putnam, John Putnam, Daniel Putnam, Rachel Mott and Tyler Mott, and three great-grandchildren Tristen Ferguson, Mallory Taylor and Wyatte Ferguson. Eileen was predeceased by a sister Agnes Blackmer.

Eileen was born in Colton, NY June 25, 1936, the daughter of John and Mabel Belle (LaQue) Norman. She graduated from Colton High School and worked as a cook for the Best Western Inn in Canton, NY for many years.

After she retired Eileen became a volunteer driver for the Social Services Dept. for 11 years. She took great comfort and enjoyment from her pet cats.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
