OGDENSBURG- In 2011 the Frederic Remington Art Museum made significant progress in restoring the 1810 Parish Mansion. For the first time in several years museum officials can certify the structure is weather tight, with a new east wing standing seam copper roof and restored cornices and roof edges. On behalf of everyone involved with the museum thanks the generous donors who have helped fund the restoration work done to date!
The Remington Art Museum continues to offer and expand its ever popular distance learning programming. This allows off site audiences both near and far the opportunity to experience virtual "tours" of the museum without leaving their own facilities.
By the end of March, they expect to have a new professional grade kitchen finished at 311 Washington Street, the administration office. This will make the site even more attractive for private parties and other events.
At Kid's Place, the children's museum, the museum offers workshops and art activities every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the winter. Summertime at KP means they're open seven days a week.
