Rebecca A. French

Rebecca A. French, 75, of State Highway 310, Madrid passed away on Feb. 20,2012 at Maplewood in Canton, NY. Rebecca was a homemaker. Born on July 28,

1936 in Ogdensburg, NY the daughter of Dora Snow. Rebecca graduated from Madrid High School and she married Loris French on August 30, 1954 at St.John’s the Baptist Church in Madrid. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Loris, sons Duane and wife Vickie of Winthrop, Andrew of Norwood, Karlton and wife Nancy of West Virginia, and David and wife Denise of Madrid, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by half brothers, Charles and Gerald Jandrew, also a daughter Lisa French. She and her husband raised many foster children. She enjoyed writing childrens books. She was a communicant of St. John’s the Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or a charity of one’s choice.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Madrid. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, at 11:00 am at St. John’s the Baptist Church in Madrid. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring.
