ASSAULT - LAWRENCE - Winthrop-based state police charged Scott Hendershot, 30, of St. Regis Falls with third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and second-degree aggravated harassment Thursday following an incident reported at 1:34 p.m. in the town of Lawrence.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Mark J. Buffham, 39, of Canton with reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and second-degree harassment Thursday following an investigation into an incident reported at 8:44 p.m. Wednesday on the May Road in the town of Potsdam.

FLEEING POLICE OFFICER - WINTHROP - Winthrop-based state police charged Brett L. Logan, 23, of 2450 County Route 55, Brasher, with third-degree fleeing a police officer, failure to obey a police officer's command and reckless driving. He was ticketed for unsafe backing, speeding, making an unsafe tgurn and failure to stop at a stop sign. The charges stemmed from an incident that took place at 12:08 a.m. March 18 in the town of Stockholm.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - BRASHER - Massena-based state police charged Scott W. Stevens, 43, of Brasher Falls with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana Thursday following a stop on County Route 38 in the town of Brasher.

FELONY DWI - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police charged Todd J. Beamis, 36, of Massena with felony counts of driving while intoxicated and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop at 6:03 p.m. Thursday on County Route 49 in the town of Lawrence. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and was ticketed for operation of a vehicle with an obstructed view, failure to keep right, making an improper right turn, making an improper turn, avoiding an intersection and two counts of speeding. He was arraigned and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, troopers said.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION MARIJUANA - NORWOOD - Canton-based state police charged Alexander J. White, 24, of Norwood and Anthony W. Kocher-Morrill, 22, of Norwood with unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at 12:10 a.m. Friday on Baldwin Avenue in the town of Potsdam. White was additionally ticketed for operating a vehicle with a loud exhaust and having unauthorized colored lights on his vehicle.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT - MALONE - Malone-based state police charged Aaron A. Debyah, 28, of Dickinson Center with a felony count of first-degree criminal contempt Thursday after he allegedly contacted a person he had been directed to have no contact with following his arraignment on assault and harasmsent charges earlier this week.
