POSSESSION HYPODERMIC INSTRUMENT - MASSENA - Village police charged Zachary R. Martin, 22, of 2860 County Route 27, Russell, with 32 counts of criminal possession of a hypodermic needle, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The items were reportedly located Jan. 24 when Martin's mother was packing up his belongings after she had directed him to move out of her residence due to his drug issues and contact with the criminal justice system. The items in his room reportedly included scales with marijuana residue, a butterfly knife, a baggie with a yellowish white powder that tested positive for morphine and 32 needles.
BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village police picked up Devin J. Riley, 17, of 24 Cline Drive, Massena, on a bench warrant for alleged violation of probation. He was arraigned by Massena Justice James M. Crandall and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond. Riley was adjudicated as a youthful offender so details of the alleged probation violation were not made public
