Patrick Manning scored a goal and an assist this morning to lead the St. Lawrence Thunder U-14 team to a 4-1 victory over the Southpointe Rinkrats to advance to the Tier II bantam semi-finals in the national tournament being staged this week in New Jersey.

Jordan Robert, Bailey Hewlett and Chad Varney also scored for the winners. Logan Brothers stopped 24 shots.

The Thunder will faceoff against the Chicago Blues at 4 p.m. in a battle of unbeatens seeking a trip to tomorrow morning's national title game.

Chicago outscored the Toledo Cherokee 5-1 in another quarterfinal matchup this morning.
