HOPKINTON - A barn that was used as a wood shaving mill for animal bedding was destroyed by a Tuesday evening fire.
The fire at the barn reportedly owned to Richard Eakins was called in at 7:13 p.m.
A neighbor who called in the fire and declined to give his name said the barn, which was full of wood sawdust, was leveled by the blaze.

Firefighters were still on the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Mutual aid was requested from a number of departments including Brasher-Winthrop, Nicholville, West Stockholm, Parishville and Potsdam.
