LOWVILLE — A 28-year-old Lowville woman has been accused of having inappropriate contact with a 12-year-old girl.

State police in Gouverneur arrested Angela S. Hirschey, 5636 Division St., at 6:18 p.m. Thursday on charges of second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

She was turned over to Lowville state police, who charged her with first-degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with another incident in Lewis County. She was sent to Lewis County jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. In the St. Lawrence County case, she was given an appearance ticket for Fine Town Court.
