MIAMI, OH - Massena native Kevin Morris has made a commitment to play NCAA Division I mens ice hockey for the University of Miami (Ohio) next season, becoming the third member of Massenas 2008 state championship to reach the Division I level.
Morris, the son of former current Manchester Monarchs coach Mark Morris, is playing in the U.S. Hockey League this season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound forward has played in 46 games and has seven goals and 10 assists.
Morris, 19, joins Unions Matt Hatch and Maine recruit Conor Riley as former members of Massenas state title team at the Division I level. Morriss older sister, Emily, was a defenseman at the University of Wisconsin and played on two national championship teams.
