OGDENSBURG — Funeral services for Anna Gore, age 88, of Jay Street, Ogdensburg will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Gore passed away Thursday evening, April 5, 2012 at Claxton Hepburn Medical.

Mrs. Gore is survived by one son, Charles, and his wife, Janet, of Hudson, FL; two daughters, Margaret Dickinson and her husband, William, of Ogdensburg and Mary Catherine Eckert and her husband, William, of Buffalo; one sister, Margaret, of Leesburg, FL; one brother, Matthew, of Leesburg, FL; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister, Phyllis Buttons.

Mrs. Gore was born on July 6, 1923 in Nassau, NY, the daughter of Matthew and Ida Clum Roshirt. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse. She married Norman Gore on June 10, 1945 at St. Mary’s Church. She retired from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center after 20 years of service. She was instrumental in starting the Whales Program. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and she was active in Claxton Hepburn Medical Center’s Auxiliary. She was also involved in the Community Players group. She was a NASCAR fan. She enjoyed reading and her luncheon group.

Donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
