MASSENA Barbra J. Goodreau, 33, of 60 Liberty Ave., was charged by village police at 5:15 p.m. Thursday with second-degree burglary for allegedly stealing a 32-inch television from her mothers Sycamore Street residence.
Ms. Goodreau was arraigned Thursday night by Justice Eric J. Gustafson in Massena Village Court and was sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
She allegedly went to Charlene Lavares residence and used a card to gain access to the locked home. She told police she then stole the flatscreen television from her moms residence.
Ms. Goodreau, in the statement she provided police, said she then gave the television to Courtney Lashomb, who then turned it over to another couple. They reportedly traded the television for one Oxycontin pill.
We then shot up together, Ms. Goodreau said in her statement, noting she had previously been in treatment for substance abuse issues. I have an addiction and need help.
Village police said their investigation into the incident is continuing, and further arrests could be forthcoming.
