PETIT LARCENY - MASSENA — A Massena woman was charged by state police Saturday with petit larceny. Taylor J. Donie, 19, Hidy Avenue, allegedly took items that did not belong to her, including two rings, a BlackBerry PlayBook and a digital camera. She was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and released under the supervision of St. Lawrence County Probation.

UNTAXED CIGARETTES - WADDINGTON — A Watertown man was charged by state police Saturday with one count of possessing unstamped cigarettes when he was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint at 4:30 p.m. on Route 37 in the town of Waddington.

Michael J. McArdell, 47, Maywood Terrace, had 32 cartons and some smokeless tobacco when he was stopped, troopers said. State law allows a person to have up to two cartons of untaxed cigarettes.

He was issued an appearance ticket for Waddington Town Court on the misdemeanor charge.

SEXUAL ABUSE - COLTON — A Childwold man was charged by state police Saturday afternoon with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Wendell W. Lehman, 47, Seavey Road, was accused of inappropriately touching a 12-year-old in the town of Colton. Mr. Lehman was arraigned in Colton Town Court and ordered held in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,000 bail.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION MARIJUANA - MADRID — A Vermont man was charged by state police early Saturday with a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. Troopers said Zak A. Johnson, 21, Rutland, Vt., was stopped at 12:15 a.m. at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in the town of Madrid and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Mr. Johnson had 194 grams of the drug, troopers said. He posted $500 bail and was released.

PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS - MASSENA - State troopers responded to several property damage accidents over the weekend. They included:

■ Angela M. French, 33, of Norwood at 5:49 p.m. Friday on County Route 35 near Route 11 in the town of Potsdam.

■ James R. Matejcik, 34, of Russell at 5:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 11B in the town of Lawrence.

■ Mark J. Snyder, 32, of Fort Covington at 8:20 p.m. Saturday on County Route 4 near Scanlon Road in the town of Bombay.

■ Cassie E. Clarke, 53, of Brushton at 5:16 p.m. Friday on state Route 95 near Cold Spring Road in the town of Bombay.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - DEKALB - Gouverneur-based state police charged Jamie R. Rush, 21, of Massena and Christopher T. Brownell, 23, of Canton with unlawful possession of marijuana following a stop at 12:30 p.m. Friday at a checkpoint on Route 11 in the town of Dekalb.
