ENDANGERING THE WELFARE - POTSDAM - St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department charged Joshua M. Beard, 26, of 186 Elm St., Potsdam, with endangering the welfar eof a child and second-degree harassment following a traffic stop at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 56 in the town of Potsdam after he was observed by a witness punching a female in his vehicle. Deputies said there was a child under 17 years of age in the vehicle at the time of the incident. He was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and released on his own recognizance. A temporary order of protection was issued as a result of the domestic incident in the vehicle.
ISSUING A BAD CHECK - POTSDAM - St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department charged Dustin W. Lipinsky, 23, of 336 Ellis Road, Canton, with issuing a bad check on Tuesday. Deputies said Lipinski wrote a check to Waynes Gas Station in the town of Madrid on an account with insufficient funds in December 2011. He was released on an appearance ticket.
