COOPERSTOWN - A six run fifth inning propelled the Heuvelton Baseball team to a 7-2 lead against Section IIs Sharon Springs en route to a 9-3 non-league win at Doubleday Field at the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Chris Power produced his second mound win of the season going six strong innings while recording 12 strikeouts. He also produced two doubles and a RBI in a 2-4 effort at the plate. Matt Guardino went 2-3 with a pair of doubles and Mike Guardino supplied two hits and two RBI. Tyler Bushey added a double and a single. Jon Sloan, Aaron Cobb and Mike Martin each singled twice.
Jack Palmer struck out two batters in relief allowing two of Sharon Springs five hits. Roach had two doubles and a single for Sharon Springs.
