William M. Kiser, 30, of 116 Winslow St., is free on $2,000 bail after being charged Wednesday by Watertown police with second-degree assault.

Police alleged that on the afternoon of Mary 23 at 544 Cooper St., he assaulted Melza R.C. White, 23, Adams Center, by use of his knees and hands. Mr. White required hospital treatment for a fractured jaw and serious injuries to his head and groin, according to police documents.
