A man was released on $15,000 bail Saturday from the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, where he was jailed on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse.

Gurpreet Singh, 32, of 207 Wealtha Ave., Apt. 654-B, was arrested late Friday by Watertown police on allegations that he made sexual contact with a 9-year-old girl at a residence in the city sometime from January to March.

He was arraigned before town of Watertown Justice Andrew N. Capone, who set bail, and awaits grand jury action.
