A Mass of the Resurrection for Raymond Martell, 80, of Liberty Ave. Massena, will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Jack Downs presiding. Friends and family may be received on Wednesday from 2-4 &7-9 pm at Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena. Raymond passed away on April 21, 2012 at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Born on October 22, 1931 in Massena the son of Julio and Mary (Sabado) Martell. He proudly served his country for two years during the Korean Conflict in the Army. He married Phyllis Sutton on January 4, 1958 at St. Mary’s Church. Raymond was employed as a laborer working construction for Local Laborers Union in Massena. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons; Robert and wife Donna and Roger and wife Marsha Martell both of Massena; sevengrandchildren, James Martell, Ahearn Amo, Dana Wilson, Chad Amo, Lindsay Brainard, Jason and Jeffry Martell, two great grandchildren, Austin Amo, Arden Amo Rush, brothers Julio and wife Sandy Martell of Vestal, NY and Steve Martell ofMassena, a sister Carmen LaRose of Cornwall, Ont. He was predeceased by a son Brian Lee Martell, a grandchildren, Ashley Martell, also a sister Martha Steiner. He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 79 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Raymond enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking.
