MASSENA - The Massena Central boys and girls track teams settled for an NAC split at home against Madrid-Waddington on Tuesday in a double-dual meet that also included Salmon River.
BOYS MEET
In the boys meet, the Raiders outscored M-W 154-84 while M-W stopped Salmon 170-36.
Andrew Brush anchored the Massena scoring with three individual wins, leading the 100 meters in 12.6 seconds, the 200 in 24.7 seconds and the long jump at 1711.5. Also scoring solo firsts for the Raiders were; Mike Ortman in the 1,600 with a time of 5:25.9, Carlos Menchon in the 400 with a time of 1:00.1, Nate Marshall in the 3,200 with a time of 13:11, Lucas Benedict in the high jump at 5, Cody Coggshell in the triple jump at 357 and Anthony Cortese in the discus at 96.
The Raiders also swept the three relay races. Benedict and Marshall combined with Zach Fregoe and Cody Cook to claim the 3,200 in 10:24. The foursome of Taylor Brown, Robert Cameron, Alex Richards and Brush teamed up to win the 400 relay in 49.8 seconds. Fregoe, Menchon and Cameron shared 1,600 honors with Kyle Nicholson after posting a time of 4:16.1.
Zach Marcellus won both the 110 hurdles in 19.4 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 1:06 to pace the Yellowjackets. Zach Flanagan led the shot put standings at 37 to account for the M-W win.
In the lone other boys meet on Tuesday, Canton posted a sweep on the road over host Tupper Lake (118-42) and Clifton-Fine (104-46).
GIRLS MEET
In the girls meet at Massena Central, M-W outscored the host Lady Raiders 173.5-139.5 and Salmon River 210-54 to come away with the sweep.
Brittany Pierce and Katie Marcellus led M-W with two wins apiece. Pierce won the long jump at 1511 and the tripl jump at 303 while Marcellus swept the weight events, taking the shot put at 318 and the discus at 875. Also posting individual firsts for M-W were Jen King in the 400 (1:110, Lauren Orosz in the 400 hurdles (1:24) and Kaleigh Field in the 800 (2:53.2).
Field, King and Orosz combined with Cassidy Scott to win the 3,200 relay in 11:27. Pierce combined with Liz Ruddy, Mikayla Blaird and Taylor Lenney to pace the 400 relay in 1:03.9. King, Blair, Field and Angela Mattie shared 1,600 relay honors with a time of 5:05.
For Massena, Waheson Lazore claimed the 100 hurdles in 20.3 seconds and the high jump at 47 while Jacalyn Lamica captured the 100 meters in 13.6 seconds and the 200 meters in 30.1 seconds. Renee Deruchia paced the 3,000 meters in 12:10 to account for the other Massena win while Amber Cunningham was second in both the shot put and discus.
The other NAC girls meet on Tuesday saw Canton beat host Tupper Lake 199-58 and Clifton-Fine 200-40.
Massena will be hosting a non-scoring Relay Carnival this Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
