POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central girls lacrosse team bounced back from a non-league loss to General Brown by pulling away to a 16-6 NAC win at home over Heuvelton on Tuesday.
Micheala Cole led the way offensively with seven goals and three assists. Keely Rice tallied five goals and an assist. Mallory Fisher fashioned a pair of goals while Abby Gruneisen and Anette Rishe contributed a goal and assist each and Kalie Grant drew a solo helper as the Lady Sandstoners built a commanding 9-3 halftime lead.
Aliza Armstrong paced the Lady Bulldogs with three goals. Emilie Ross struck for a pair of goals while Jackie Sovie accounted for the other Heuvelton tally.
Jen Tardelli (1st half) and Katelyn Bloom (2nd half) made five saves apiece combining to backstop the win. Megan Hamilton turned aside 10 shots working the crease for Heuvelton (1-4, 1-2).
The Lady Sandstoners (3-2, 3-1) are slated to play a non-league game in Lake Placid against Northwood Prep on Friday starting at 5 p.m.
