Two teens charged in Philadelphia burglary

PHILADELPHIA — Two youths were interrupted Wednesday morning as they exited a residence here where they allegedly stole nearly $1,300 in cash, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

One of the suspects, Gabriel A. Medina, 16, of 27196 Rout 26, Theresa, is being held in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, with bail set at $5,000 by LeRay Town Justice George E. They are charged with second- and third-degree counts of burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and felony and misdemeanor criminal mischief counts.

The break-in occurred shortly after 9:40 a.m. at the residence of Frederick R. Audette, 9 Church St. Deputies reported that siding was damaged while the pair climbed through a window to enter the structure. They entered the garage, deputies alleged, and scratched the hood and driver’s door of Mr. Audette’s 2011 Hyundai.

In addition to stealing $1,289 from a lock box, they stole several dollars in change and some jewelry, deputies said.
