LEAVING THE SCENE - POTSDAM - Village police charged Ashwin Chockalingam, 23, of Potsdam with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating without a license at 2:45 p.m. Thursday following an investigation into a property damage accident at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Cheel Arena parking lot. She allegedly struck a parked vehicle and then left the scene without notifying anyone of the accident. Police said a note was left on the windshield of the victim’s vehicle by an unknown subject, which provided the plate number of the suspect vehicle. Police said Chockalingam’s vehicle was damaged, and he made admissions to driving with only a Learner’s Permit without a licensed driver inthe vehicle.

RED LIGHT - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Noelle Y. Mailhot, 21, of Scottsdale, Az., a traffic ticket for a red light following a traffic stop at 6:35 p.m. Thursday.

FAILURE TO YIELD - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Christopher A. Bleau, 21, of Ogdensburg for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk in front of the Roxy Theater at 7:07 p.m. Thursday.

8:22am Patrol picked up a stray cat located at Debra Dr. and transported it to the animal shelter.

9:07am Assisted a town resident in filling out a report for a stolen license plate.

9:12am A subject entered the station to report a possible child abuse situation.

10:56am Assisted a town resident in obtaining a handicap parking permit.

12:00pm Patrol completed a Funeral escort.

1:53pm Patrol located a CSX crossing arm malfunction. CSX was contacted to fix the problem.

2:30pm Patrol completed a Funeral escort.

2:45pm Ticket issued for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating without a license.

3:07pm Dispatched Potsdam Rescue to a call.

4:49pm Patrols dispatched to be observant for a male walking down Market St. carrying what is described as a club.

5:40pm Patrols responded to an accident on Main Street.

6:11pm Responded to a reported accident at Swan Landing.

6:35pm Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

7:01pm Debit card located in the Sunoco parking lot turned into the department.

7:07pm Traffic stop. Ticket issued.
