Salmon River boys lacrosse defeats Canton, 19-7

CANTON — Dalston Day scored four goals and assisted on four others to help the Salmon River boys lacrosse team to a 19-7 win over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference game on Thursday.

Russ Oakes and Austin Cavender scored three goals each and Kyle Lewis and Trenton Tarbell produced two goals for the Shamrocks (3-0 overall and division). Kiio Jacobs, Kason Tarbell, Lakota Square, Sky Sunday and Roweren Lazore also scored for Salmon River.

Payton VanBibber and Jessie Gilbert both scored two goals for the Golden Bears (5-2, 5-1). Jack Elberty, Eb Foote and Mike Matthews also scored for Canton.

ST. LAWRENCE 11, POTSDAM 10 (OT)

Marshall Burninghausen one-timed a pass from Ian Lynch 1 minute, 24 seconds into overtime to give the Larries (3-2) a win over Potsdam in an NAC game in Brasher Falls.

Nate Cole led St. Lawrence Central with four goals and four assists. Logan White scored three goals and Lukas Arquette added two. Ian Lynch and Dalton Lottie scored single goals.

Sam Miller and Cody Compeau each scored twice for Potsdam (4-2, 3-1). Nate Carey, Stephen Lewis, Kyle Kingsley, Kyle Grant, Hayden Kart and Garrett Kilgore added single goals.

MASSENA 15, COLTON-PIERREPONT 3

Zach Hopps and Grayson Phillips each scored four goals as the Red Raiders (5-2, 3-2) routed Colton-Pierrepont in an NAC contest in Massena.

Josh Blair scored three goals for Massena while Rhoades Tarbell, Sako Rourke and Dalton Mullen each scored one goal.

Dustin Andrus, Gyle Dominy and Scott Boyce scored for the Colts (0-7, 0-5).

OFA 16, SARANAC LAKE 8

Jake Garrison scored four goals with one assist and Andrew Roddy tallied three goals as OFA defeated the Red Storm (1-3) in an NAC game in Saranac Lake.

Cody McCormick, Spencer Lawrence and Dave Prudhomme each scored twice and Andrew Guimond also scored for the Blue Devils (1-6, 1-5).

BASEBALL

MORRISTOWN 17-13, HERMON-DEKALB 0-0

Morristown scored 30 runs and allowed the Demons (0-2) just one hit in sweeping a West Division doubleheader in DeKalb Junction.

Geoff Baldwin and Tyler Delosh combined for a no-hitter in the opening game for Morristown (5-0). Baldwin struck out eight in three innings and Delosh struck out four in the final two.

Dakota Marshall hit a grand slam and Baldwin added a three-run and two-run homers in the opener.

Bobby Simmons struck out six in a three-inning second game for Morristown. The game ended early because of rain.

SOFTBALL

OFA 3-4, GOUVERNEUR 1-3

Mackenzie Cole hit a two-run homer to led OFA (2-0) past the Wildcats in the first game of a Central Division doubleheader in Gouverneur.

Jaelyn Gotham struck out nine for the Wildcats (0-4, 0-2) in the opener.

HERMON-DEKALB 13, MORRISTOWN 3

Brianna Sayer struck out six in a five-inning game as the Demons defeated Morristown (1-2, 1-1) in a West Division game in DeKalb Junction.

Clarisa Davis had two hits, including a triple, and Xanna Gotham also had two hits for the Demons (3-0, 1-0).

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

OFA WINS TWICE

Nick Crawford won the 110-meter hurdles, 400 hurdles and high jump to lead OFA (4-0) to a 157-80 win over host Gouverneur and a 171-37 win over Clifton-Fine in an NAC double-dual meet. The Wildcats (3-1) defeated Clifton-Fine, 151-56.

Christian Lesperance won the 100 and 200 for OFA and Alex Wood took the 1,600 and 3,200. Brady Hayden led the Eagles (0-4) with wins in the 400 and the long and triple jumps.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

WILDCATS CLAIM TWO

Davina Jones won the 100 hurdles and the high jump as host Gouverneur (2-2) defeated OFA 161-157 and Clifton-Fine 208-56 in an NAC double-dual meet. OFA defeated the Eagles 193-67.

Allysha Bracy led the Blue Devils (3-1) with wins in the long jump and triple jump. Savannah Powell won the 100 and 200 for the Eagles (0-4).

GIRLS LACROSSE

IHC 10, CARTHAGE 5

Kayla Miles scored five goals and added an assist as the Cavaliers earned a Frontier League win at Carthage.

Christine Wright supplied two goals and two assists, and Victoria Fusco stopped 11 shots for Immaculate Heart Central (8-1, 5-0).

Chrissy Cook contributed a goal and an assist for Carthage (3-6, 2-3).

GENERAL BROWN 17, INDIAN RIVER 11

Emily Amell notched five goals and two assists as the Lions beat the Warriors in a Frontier League game in Philadelphia.

Maggie Ambrose stopped 20 shots for General Brown (4-4, 1-4), while Caitlin Bero had two goals and three assists for the Lions.

Paige Fayette and Katie Brierton each scored three goals for Indian River (4-5, 0-5).

LIVERPOOL 9, WATERTOWN 7

Andrea Flood scored four goals as the Warriors rallied to edge the host Cyclones in a nonleague game.

Lauren Mancini chipped in with a hat trick for Liverpool (7-3).

Morgan Cadwell finished with four goals for Watertown (6-3).
