DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged James A. Helmar, 59, of Hannawa Falls wth driving while intoxicated at 11:31 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop on Munson Street. He was also ticketed for speeding (61/30) and failure to stop for a police officer. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent. Police said an officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Pierrepont Avenue and ttempted to initiate a traffic stop on Main Street, but the vehicle continued to Munson Street before stopping.
