The state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has launched an inquiry into employee conduct at Watertown Correctional Facility.
There is an investigation that involves that facility, said Peter K. Cutler, a spokesman for the department. As a department, we wont comment on any pending investigations or personnel matters.
Other than confirming the existence of an investigation, the Corrections Department would not say who or what the conduct involved, nor how many employees were affected. But Mr. Cutler did say that it did not involve inmates.
A prison source said that the claims involve sexual harassment allegations against a high-ranking administrative official at the prison. The source said that Corrections Department officials had interviewed several employees at the facility, including the source.
Mr. Cutler said that no employees at the prison, in the town of Watertown, had been suspended.
Officials at the medium-security correctional facility could not be reached for comment.
