Clarke paces Red Raiders over Warriors in FL baseball

LOWVILLE — Alex Clark homered and doubled and drove in two runs as the Lowville baseball team earned a 12-3 Frontier League crossover victory over Indian River on Friday afternoon.

Ryan Birchenough contributed three hits and drove in a run for Lowville (6-1, 4-10), which was the visiting team.

Calder Roggie added a triple, double and an RBI for Lowville.

Kody Smith had three of the five hits, including a double, for Indian River (1-3, 0-3).

IHC 12, A-P-W 10

Santino Alteri finished 4-for-5 with two doubles to help the Cavaliers to a crossover win over the Rebels in Parish.

Shane Garrabrant provided three hits, while Robin Massey and Miles Sexton added two hits apiece for Immaculate Heart Central (2-1).

Skylar Wheeler drove in four runs on four hits for Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (1-6, 0-5).

SACKETS HARBOR 4, COPENHAGEN 3

Colton Belcher delivered a two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Patriots a “D” Division victory over the visiting Golden Knights at Sackets Harbor.

Billy Newcombe struck out five in a complete-game two-hitter for Sackets Harbor (4-2), while Cameron Allen and Ethan Meeks provided two hits apiece.

Brandon Selley recorded two hits for Copenhagen (3-5).

SOFTBALL

GENERAL BROWN 6, LOWVILLE 5

Samantha Giruzzi belted a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Lions to a “B” Division victory over the Red Raiders at Dexter.

Hope VanBrocklin tied the game with a two-run home run in the sixth inning for General Brown (9-1, 6-1).

Katie Pitkin struck out 12 in a complete game, while Giruzzi also hit a double, and Jessica Niles added a two-run single for the Lions.

Olivia Hanno smacked a double for Lowville (3-4).

COPENHAGEN 25, SACKETS HARBOR 3

Brianne Spaulding gave up two runs over six innings and went 3-for-5 with four RBIs as the Golden Knights picked up a “D” Division win over the Patriots at Sackets Harbor.

Alicia Evans drove in five runs on three hits, including a triple, and Taylor Murtha knocked in four runs for Copenhagen (1-7).

Olivia Martin finished 2-for-3 for Sackets Harbor (1-6).

BOYS LACROSSE

IHC 15, GENERAL BROWN 9

Matt Moran accounted for five goals and three assists in the Cavaliers’ Frontier League home interdivision victory.

Lindsey Pound provided two goals and three assists and Joe Spooner contributed two goals and two assists for IHC.

The Cavaliers’ Matt Guyette finished with one goal and three assists, and Nick Koelmel produced three goals. Goalie Brad Rowe stopped 11 shots for IHC (7-3, 6-0).

Cole Johnson registered three goals and two assists for General Brown (5-5, 3-4).
