St. Lawrence County school districts have spent the past few months busily preparing for May 15 - the day public voting will decide upon 17 proposed 2012-13 school budgets across the county. A series of public hearings will be held over the next two weeks to give residents of each school district a look at next years budget proposals.
Ogdensburg
District Clerk Alane L. Farrell, voters will decide the fate of the districts $33.736 million proposed budget. A public hearing on the budget is set for May 7 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria at OFA.
Morristown
Residents are looking at a proposed $8.5 million budget for 2012-13. The schools budget hearing is May 7 at 6 p.m.
Hammond
Voters will be asked to approve a proposed $6.6 million 2012-13 spending plan. District voters get a chance to review the budget proposal during a public hearing slated for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the school.
Lisbon
Lisbon Central School will present its $11.8 million proposed budget to the public during a hearing slated for Thursday at 7 p.m. in the district board room.
Heuvelton
The Heuvelton Central School Board of Education is holding its public hearing on the districts proposed $12 million 2012-13 budget Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the multi-media room.
Madrid-Waddington
At Madrid-Waddington, the proposed 2012-2013 budget stands at $13.98 million. The district will hold its public hearing on May 8 at 7 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria.
Massena
The Massena Central School District will be presenting voters with a proposed $46,048,943 budget for 2012-2013. A public hearing will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in room 314 at Massena High School.
Potsdam
In the Potsdam Central School District, voters will be asked to approve a $26,782,798 spending plan for next year. The districts public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. May 8 in the high school library.
Colton-Pierrepont
Colton-Pierrepont Central School will present voters with a $9.47 million budget proposal on May 15. They will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school cafeteria.
Norwood-Norfolk
Norwood-Norfolk Central School officials will ask voters to approve a $19,501,881 spending plan for 2012-2013. Their public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 8 in the district board room.
Parishville-Hopkinton
Parishville-Hopkinton Central School will present voters with a $10,065,212 budget for their approval. The budget hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. May 8 in the high school auditorium.
St. Lawrence Central
In Brasher Falls, St. Lawrence Central School will ask voters to approve an $18,851,996 budget for 2012-13. Their public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium.
Canton
Canton Central Schools proposed $23.27 million 2012-2013 budget will be presented to voters during a public hearing that will take place on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Hugh C. Williams High School library.
Hermon-DeKalb
A $9.1 million budget for 2012-13 will be the topic of discussion during a public hearing May 7 at 7 p.m. at Hermon-DeKalb Central School.
Gouverneur
Gouverneur Central will present its proposed $31.4 million 2012-2013 budget to district voters at a hearing slated for May 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Edwards-Knox
Voters in the Edwards-Knox Central School District will have an opportunity to review the proposed $12.4 million 2012-13 budget at a May 8 hearing at 7 p.m. at the school.
Clifton-Fine
Clifton-Fine Central School will make its $9.6 million 2012-13 budget proposal available to the public during a May 7 hearing at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium.
