Colts Deny Demons In Big Green Classic


DEKALB JUNCTION - Brianna Beaulieu spun a eight strikeout, one hit shutout for Colton-Pierrepont on Saturday in the championship game of the Big Green Softball Classic at Hermon-DeKalb blanking the host Demons 15-0.

Morgan Doyle led the offense lining two singles and driving in four runs while Eve Whalen, Sabrina Johnson and Kathyrn Miller each singled. Brooke Woodrow connected for the lone H-D hit. C-P downed Norwood-Norfolk 8-4 in the first round of the tournament. Beaulieu was named the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Tournament while Clarisa Davis was cited as the Offensive MVP.In the consolation game, Norwood-Norfolk bested Edwards-Knox 26-7.

H-D 12, E-K 7: Brianna Sayer fanned 12 batters and scattered five hits in the win. Xann Gotham smacked a single and drove in three runs during the game for H-D. Jen Gotham lined a double and a single while Clarisa Davis collected two singles. Sayer finished with a double while Thanisha Scales, Chelsey MacKay and Sabrina Wood each singled for the winners. Clare Davis, Mercedes Mackin, Janna Fountain, Veronica White and Brianna Kroniser all singled for E-K.

C-P 8, N-N 4: Brianna Beaulieu fanned 11 batters in the four hitt as Andrea Aldous singled twice and Morgan Doyle, EveWhalen and Tiffany Generous all singled once. Carlie Weaver, Courtney Harvey, Courtney Wagstaff, and Jessica Harvey all singled for N-N.
