PARISHVILLE - The Colton-Pierrepont softball came away from Parishville-Hopkinton with a 5-1 win in NAC East Division action on Monday.
Brianna Beaulieu fanned six and walked none in a complete-game one-hitter to anchor the Colts win. Michaela Coventry had six strikeouts and walked two in taking the loss.
Tara Hennessy led the way offensively for the Lady Colts going 2-4 with a run scored and three RBI, including a tw-run single in the fifth inning the keyed a decisive three-run surge. Andrea Aldous singled and scored two runs. Morgan Doyle, Eve Whalen and Haylee Hennessy each singled. Doyle also came around to score a solo run along with Beaulieu.
Kodi Perkin connected for the lone P-H hit in the bottom of the fourth inning. Natalie Remington crossed the plate with the lone round in front of an RBI ground-out by Marlee Wilson.
The Lady Colts, who were coming off an impressive tournament championship win on Saturday at the Big Green Classic hosted by Hermon-DeKalb, improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the East and will play at Edwards-Knox on Wednesday. The Lady Panthers slipped to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the division. They are slated to host an interdivisional game against Heuvelton on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Other East Division games on Monday saw Madrid-Waddington sweep St. Regis Falls.
M-W 29-13, SRF 8-12: Blair Cryderman struck out seven pitching a complete win and went three for three at the plate. a high-powered winning offense was led by Mariah Patnode who went 3-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs, Des Pryce who stroked three three singles, Megan Gabri who singled twice and scored five runs, Legan Barkley who wrnt 4-4 with two doubles and six RBIs amd Emily Upstrom and Taylor Marcellus (double) who stroked three hits apiece.
Brittany Rondeau doubed and singled and Makenzy Bazderick singled twie for St. Regis Falls.
Mariah Patnaude belted a game-winning homerun in the bottom of the sixth inning which gave Des Pryce a complete game victory. Patnaude and Pryce both finished with two hits along with Blair Cryderman and Tori Long who tripled. Brittany Rondeau rapped a double and a homerun for St. Regis Falls.
In a pair of NAC North Division games on Monday, Canton turned back St. Lawrence Central and Brushton-Moira handled Norwood-Norfolk.
Canton 8, St. Lawrence Central 0: Four runs in the sixth inning sealed the win for Canton in a contest against visiting St. Lawrence Central. The Bears, last years Class B champions, improved to 4-0, 2-0 in the NAC North while the Larries, a projected Class C contender fell to 5-1, 0-1 in NAC North.
Emma Rexford struckout eight and walked six in a two hitter for Canton.
Lindsay Thayer fanned 12 batters and walked two in a six hitter for St. Lawrence.
Rexford supplied two singles for Canton. Katie Christy, Kaeli Mace, Kara Locey, and Lauren Smith also produced hits. Jane Judware and Noelle Rufa each singled for SLC.
B-M 9, N-N 1:Emily OConnor picked up the win for the Panthers, tossing a complete-game five hitter. OConnor struck out 11 Flyers without issuing a free pass.
Sandra Martin led the nine-hit BMC offense with two hits and an RBI while Shelby St. Mary plated a pair of runs with a single. Rachel Tower also drove in two runs during the victory as singles came off the bats of OConnor, Megan DeBeer, Emily Lapage, Haylea Gary, and Margaret McKernan.
The Panthers scored in each of the first five innings with three runs in the third frame to increase their advantage from 3-0 to 6-0. The Flyers scored their lone run in the sixth inning.
Gabby Cole, who tossed the first two innings for N-N, was tagged with the loss as Katie Ames entered the game in relief of the starter. The Flyers duo combined for six strikouts, five walks and hit five batters.
Jess Harvey drove in the Flyers lone run with a double.
In NAC West Division encounters, Harrisville dropped Clifton-Fine 15-4 and Hermon-Dekalb stopped Lisbon 16-6.
